Lao PDR is a
landlocked country in Southeast Asia that shares its borders with Thailand, Vietnam,
Cambodia, Myanmar, and China. Classified as a Least
Developed Country (LDC), Laos
is one of the poorest countries around the world. In order to help develop its
economy, strengthen the government, alleviate poverty, and to better manage its
poorly-maintained environment, World Organizations and Non-Governmental
Organizations (NGO) are implementing hundreds of projects each year. This
includes programs to establish solar energy systems in rural communities and
erecting hydropower dams that provide people with electricity made from
renewable energy in a environmentally-friendly way.

provided discuss about two technology innovations that are solving
environmental issues in Laos,
such as water and air pollution.
